Bioluminescent Wonders: Explore the enchanting bioluminescence of Anderson  Lagoon,  where fluorescent algae transform the water into a natural light spectacle. Glide through the mangroves as your boat leaves trails of sparkles. Witness the magical dance of fish streaking through the water, leaving behind a brilliant blue bioluminescent trail.

Two experiences in one:

The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Placencia, offering breathtaking views of the Cockscomb Mountain range. Additionally, your knowledgeable guide, will share fascinating insights into the Garifuna people, making a stop at a Tugucina a local Garifuna  kitchen (restaurant) for a traditional dinner. Indulge in Garifuna delicacies like Hudut, a hearty plantain and fish dish, and explore the unique flavors of Bundiga or Darasa.

The Boat Tour: After dinner (optional), the boat tour begins.  The captain will skillfully navigate through the mangroves, unveiling a captivating starlit sky above. The real magic happens when the water starts glowing in brilliant hues of blue. Marvel at the bioluminescent display as fish create luminous trails. Some can't resist the the urge to dip their fingers in.  Do at your own risk.

How easy is it?

Very easy to do.

The bioluminescence tour from Placencia is convenient as dinner precedes the boat ride. This thoughtful arrangement allows guests to indulge in a delightful dining experience in a different town, setting the stage for an evening filled with enchantment. After savoring a delicious meal, participants can seamlessly transition to the magical boat ride, where the bioluminescent waters await, creating a captivating and memorable adventure.

Additionally, for the daring souls, the option to swim (at your own risk) adds an extra layer of excitement to this easily accessible and well-orchestrated experience.

The beach horseback riding was a great experience! The staff / our guide was great at picking the right horses for us( we are inexperienced riders) and the horses were really gentle. I would highly recommend this experience and the company.

We had a great time riding horses in Placencia. Jimmy and Alessandro were great guides and took the 6 of us out for a 2 hour excursion. My daughters, 9yo & 10yo, had only ridden horses once before but the team at Sand & Saddle were great. This kids loved the ride up the beach and at the halfway point we stopped at a nice resort and were able to get a drink at the bar and swim in their pool to cool down. Riding in the sand and water was a fun excursion for the entire family.
