Barefoot Services is prompt, professional, and was more like being on an informational tour than an airport shuttle. We landed in Belize, and were greeted with our names on a sign. Our bags were loaded into the comfortable van and our driver, Jimmy, gave us all sorts of interesting information about their beautiful country. So glad we had this experience.

This was an amazing experience! Toledo is one of the most beautiful and pristine ecological areas in Belize. Our family asked Barefoot Services Belize to create a tour of the Toledo district that would allow us to learn about it's history, culture, people and the current living experience. They provided this and more. Ian Yearwood, our guide, was full of information which he shared freely. He made learning fun and kept us engaged the entire time. Ian took us to traditional tourist sites, and through less traveled areas. We had a traditional meal along the way which only enhanced the experience. I've traveled through all six districts in Belize. I wish I'd done them all this way. If you know nothing about Toledo or only the touristy areas, do yourself a favor and take this tour. You will learn so much more about it's people and their lives.

Kayaks dirty and life jackets were gross. Guide was impatient.

Christina Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We value all feedback, and we take every concern seriously. However, we would like to provide additional context regarding the guided kayak tour on December 1, as the experience described does not align with what occurred on site. Our guide arrived at the villa promptly at 3:00 PM, the agreed meeting time. At the start of the tour, there was an unexpected home emergency that required your attention. Our guide patiently waited and adjusted the schedule to accommodate the situation, with full understanding and compassion. Once we proceeded to the water, the group delayed again—this time to return to the villa so you could retrieve sunscreen and water. This added approximately 30 minutes, but our guide remained flexible and supportive, ensuring that the tour continued smoothly for everyone in the group. During the paddle, there were several extended pauses so the group could wait while you managed additional calls. The other members of your party—particularly the older woman traveling with you—expressed repeated apologies for the delays. Despite these interruptions, your group completed the full tour, and everyone shared that they had a wonderful time upon returning to shore. At no point during the experience were concerns raised about equipment, cleanliness, or the guide’s attitude. We would have addressed any issue immediately and with care had we been given the opportunity. At Barefoot Services, we take great pride in providing safe, clean equipment and adaptable, patient service—especially when guests face personal emergencies during their vacation. Our team is committed to kindness and professionalism, even in unexpected situations. We remain grateful to serve visitors to Placencia, and we are always open to honest, constructive feedback that helps us continue improving.

Would not recommend. Bad condition, leaking gas, barely started. Owner drove around in very nice new one and gave us two old ones.

Christina, Thank you for sharing your feedback. At Barefoot Services, we take every concern seriously and remain committed to providing safe, reliable, and respectful service to all guests. For clarity, we would like to share the verified timeline of services delivered: The golf cart was rented on November 28 and remained in the guest’s care without any report of issues until the morning of December 2, four days later. At 7:29 AM on December 2, we received a message asking if the cart could be returned to the Placencia airstrip on the rental’s scheduled end date, December 3. We told her “yes” Shortly thereafter, we received another message about shuttle charges. We saw the message after our office opened at 8:30 AM, and we responded professionally at 9:15 AM, confirming that charges were processed according to the reservation and cancellation policy. The payment was initiated on November 27; however, interbank processing was finalized on December 2, which is normal for card transactions. The client became upset and implied that we were lying and suggested we made the charge to her card on December 2. This prompted us to send her a copy of the receipt, showing the date of transaction being “November 27” At this point, multiple complaints were raised—including issues with the golf cart, the kayak tour from the previous day, equipment, and even accusations that our team was dishonest. These concerns were not shared at any earlier time, despite daily opportunities to reach us. We had been on WhatsApp multiple times answering general questions for this client Regarding the golf cart specifically: On December 2 at 3:00 PM, our senior guide—who is also an experienced mechanic—noticed a faint fuel smell coming from the cart while meeting the group for their kayak tour. Without being prompted by any complaint, he immediately arranged a courtesy replacement cart to ensure the guests’ comfort and safety. The guests accepted the swap at the time and expressed no concern. The renter now complains that someone from our team was on a newer cart, while we rented her an old cart. We realize that, while we do not rent new carts, the client failed to realize that possibly the cart she is referring to was out and not available to her on the day she initially picked up her cart. Regarding the kayaking tour completed on December 1: Our team recorded a wonderful experience, and the guests expressed positive feedback that same day. When concerns are brought to us in real time, we address them immediately. Unfortunately, we were not given that opportunity. This client in less than 1 hour of receiving her many complaints, initiated a bank fraud (charge back) against us, and made 2-1 start review. We did not have any time to consider a refund, discuss the concerns and give reasonable feedback. We also want to address accusations of theft. Barefoot Services is a licensed and insured Belizean tour operator with nearly 20 years of service and a long-standing record of integrity. We respect every guest and treat each situation professionally, but we cannot accept abusive language or unfounded claims. We fully understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. However, canceling a shuttle service within 24 hours of departure falls under our standard cancellation policy, which is clearly stated at the time of booking and applied fairly to all guests. We remain committed to resolving concerns respectfully and privately. We welcome constructive feedback and are always looking for ways to improve. What we cannot allow is misinformation or personal attacks against our staff, who work hard every day to provide reliable, and honest service to visitors of Belize. Thank you for understanding.

Everything went smoothly, golf cart was at the airport when we arrived. Cart worked fine and was handy for running around town and getting to our air bnb, which was out of town a few miles. Staff was very friendly and helpful, they also arranged a tour for us to Monkey River Village. I would recommend this business. Thanks!
